Alleged drunk driver kills 3 members of a law enforcement motorcycle club, more injured

An alleged drunk driver is accused of mowing down seven members of a national motorcycle club made up of law enforcement professionals and killing three of those bikers.

The crash happened in Texas Hill County outside San Antonio, according to the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office, which said a driver going the opposite direction crossed the highway’s center stripe, which set off the tragedy.

“Please keep our brothers with the Thin Blue Line Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club in ya’lls prayers,” reads a posting on the police department’s Facebook page. “The ride was in celebration of the club’s birthday when the accident occurred.”

The alleged drunk driver was arrested “for several counts of intoxicated manslaughter and intoxication assault,” the posting said.

Some reports claimed that up to nine bikers were hurt, but the Kerr County Sheriff’s Department takes issue with that count.
