This electric motorcycle maker says 15 minute recharging is coming soon

In the electric motorcycle vs. gas-powered motorcycle debate, range and refueling time have become the only two areas where e-motos don’t quite stack up yet. But that could soon change.

According to Europe’s premier electric motorcycle company Energica, shorter charging times could be just around the corner.

The Modena, Italy-based company and manufacturer of the racing electric motorcycles used by MotoE has already adopted fast charging in its multiple model lines of consumer electric motorcycles.

But Energica CTO Giampiero Testoni explained that charging times are likely to improve soon during an interview with Visordown.

Energica’s electric motorcycles already feature DC fast charging, which the company was one of the first in the electric motorcycle industry to adopt.

“From a technical point of view, charge, and range, let’s say that charging, we believe we were one of the first to believe in fast charging,” Testoni explained.

“Of course, there was

Deadly motorcycle crashes rising across Missouri

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – May is ‘Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.’ And police say fatalities involving motorcyclists in Missouri are rising.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports 18 fatalities in the last four months. That is compared to 11 fatalities in all of 2020.

Investigators believe, in part, the increase is because of more traffic on the roads now, compared to the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. Inattentive drivers also play a part.

They believe Missouri’s motorcycle helmet law may play a role. The law began at the end of August. It allows those 26 and older, with insurance to cover a crash, to ride without a helmet. The patrol says they are enforcing the law, checking for insurance coverage with those not wearing helmets, whenever they pull over a motorcyclist for a traffic violation.

In the city of Springfield, there have been eight motorcycle fatalities since the law went into

Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month | Local Briefs

Editor’s note: Following is a column submitted by the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Motorcycle fatalities increased 40% in 2020 over the previous five-year average.

May is national Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and the Wisconsin State Patrol is asking all motorcyclists and all other motorists to share the road, be alert and safe.

Preliminary data for 2020 for Wisconsin shows there were 2,095 motorcycle crashes, 1,788 motorcyclists injured and 112 motorcycle fatalities.

As warm weather returns, more motorcyclists will be on Wisconsin roads.

“Drivers must be in the habit of looking for motorcyclists,” said Capt. Craig Larson of the State Patrol’s Northwest Region based in Eau Claire.

“And motorcyclists should watch for other vehicles and get properly trained and licensed,” he said. “Together we can save lives.”

Motorcycle crashes often occur when a car or truck driver changes lanes, turns left or pulls out in front of a motorcycle.

Motorcycles are smaller
