A Motorcycle That’s Above it All

The Speeder is a futuristic-looking flying motorcycle created by Ventura, Calif.-based Jetpack Aviation. Though some elements are still in development, the vertical take-off-and-landing aircraft will have jet turbine engines that provide vertical thrust. Once in the air, the engines would tilt backward and the aircraft would fly on small wings powered by net-zero-carbon fuel. Woman killed in shooting near Colorado Springs mall, suspect on motorcycle sought | Crime & Justice

A shooting north of The Citadel mall Saturday killed one of the two victims, Colorado Springs police said. 

A person on a yellow, white and black dirt bike-style motorcycle is suspected of firing shots into a car that hit a man and woman around 5:20 p.m. Saturday on the 3600 block of East Galley Road, a news release from the Colorado Springs police said.  

The two people crashed into a utility pole at Galley Road and Auburn Drive where the police found them, the statement said. The police went to the scene of the crash after hearing the shots and came across the car, it said. 

The two were taken to the hospital where the woman died and the man was treated and released. The case is considered a homicide, according to the release.

Motorcycle rider dies after two-vehicle collision in Visalia

A motorcycle rider was killed in a two-vehicle collision Thursday night in Visalia. 

Around 8 p.m., officers were called to reports of a collision between a 1998 Toyota Forerunner SUV and a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle at Walnut Avenue and Garden Street.

When first responders arrived, they found the motorcycle rider in the roadway. The 39-year-old man suffered “major injuries,” Agent Nate Henry said. The rider was taken to Kaweah Health Medical Center and died Friday.

Officers discovered the SUV was headed east on Walnut and the motorcycle was westbound on Walnut. The driver made a left turn onto Garden and slammed into the motorcycle rider in the intersection, police said. 

The driver of the SUV, a 26-year-old man, was uninjured, according to police. The names of the parties involved weren’t released by officers.
