Kentucky man reported missing at Grand Canyon

John Pennington abandoned his car and is believed to be on a yellow motorcycle.

A 40-year-old man has gone missing at the Grand Canyon, sparking a search by the National Park Service.

John Pennington, of Walton, Kentucky, was last known to be at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, near Yaki Point, the National Park Service said.

Pennington abandoned his vehicle at Yaki Point on or around Feb. 23 and is believed to be traveling alone, possibly on a yellow motorcycle, the park service said.

Grand Canyon spokesperson Joelle Baird said Monday, “Yesterday and continuing today our aviation crew will continue aerial search reconnaissance flights.”

Rangers ask anyone who may have seen Pennington or the yellow motorcycle to call the park service’s Investigative Services Branch Tip Line at 888-653-0009.

Man dies after stunt while riding motorcycle in Broward, deputies say

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – The 37-year-old rider of a red 2012 Aprilia RSV4 motorcycle died on Tuesday from injuries he suffered during a crash on Monday night in Deerfield Beach, deputies said.

Alvaro Escalante was traveling westbound on West Hillsboro Boulevard when he performed a wheelie and crashed into a white 2018 Subaru WRX sedan.

Marcio Nantes Vehara Filho was driving the Subaru when he was traveling eastbound on West Hillsboro Boulevard and was he started to make a left turn at Northeast 41st Avenue.

“Escalante, just prior to Filho turning left, performed a wheelie and continued westbound through the intersection striking Filho’s vehicle,” Sgt. Donald Prichard wrote in a report. “Subsequently, the front end of Escalante’s motorcycle collided with the driver’s side.”

The force of the impact caused Escalante to be ejected from the motorcycle. Filho, 25, of Boca Raton, waited for deputies to arrive.

Man caught by police riding E-SCOOTER along M1 in the dark and rain

A man with a ‘death wish’ was caught by police riding on a motorway in pitch darkness during the rain – on an e-scooter. 

The rider, 34, was pulled over by officers after he was spotted by worried motorists along the M1 near Sheffield this morning.

South Yorkshire Police, who seized the motorised scooter after it was found to have no insurance, said that the poor visibility coupled with the rain and darkness along the route made it a ‘recipe for disaster’.

The police said the rider has been reported on summons to court.

Man leads JCSO on police chase, is arrested on 9 charges

MARIANNA, Fla. (WCTV) – Wednesday, around 12:45 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested a man following an attempted traffic stop, police chase and motorcycle crash.

33-year-old Marvin Locke was arrested on charges of aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest without violence, trafficking in methamphetamines, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.
