A local motorcycle club has once again honored law enforcement officers in Erie County who died in the line of duty.
Members of the Erie County chapter of the Enforcers Motorcycle Club visited area cemeteries on Saturday to place wreaths on the graves of 18 officers from the Erie, Edinboro, Presque Isle, North East and Union City police departments who died on duty between 1905 and 1992. The members also placed wreaths at the memorials to fallen officers in Perry Square in Erie and at the Pennsylvania State Police Troop E headquarters in Lawrence Park Township.
Gerlach’s Garden & Floral donated the wreaths and the wreath stands, said Jeremy Sidun, the club’s president.
The Erie County chapter of the Enforcers Motorcycle Club, a law enforcement and veterans club, has placed wreaths on the graves of fallen officers on the first Saturday of December since the club became involved with the nationwide Fallen Heroes Wreath Program in 2017. Several other chapters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina and New York have also gotten involved in the wreath program, Sidun said.
