There was a full freeway closure in Milwaukee County westbound through the Zoo interchange Wednesday night due to a Waukesha County motorcycle crash, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office tweeted. The freeway has since reopened.
The closure was due to a motorcycle crash with serious injuries on I-94 westbound at Elm Grove Road in Waukesha County, according to the tweet that was posted shortly after 8:30 p.m.
During the closure, all traffic was being diverted off at Highway 100.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office closed the highway on its side of County Line Road as a “standard response” to enable Waukesha County authorities to take care of the crash, any victim(s), the investigation and cleanup, the sheriff’s office said in an email.
“All affected lanes of traffic have reopened,” the sheriff’s office said in a tweet around 10:40 p.m.
