If you live in one of these 10 cities, you may not live as long

In the COVID-19 age, workers can work from anywhere — just as long as there’s an internet connection.

For those seeking a healthier lifestyle, it might be time to consider a move out of your current city. New research conducted by Lenstore analyzed more than 40 cities across the world to find which can lead to the best well-rounded, healthiest lifestyle.

With the pandemic stressing people out and causing all types of medical anomalies, maybe it’s time to consider heading to Amsterdam for a while.

The Dutch capital ranked as the number one location for leading a healthy lifestyle, according to the study. Residing in the fifth happiest country in the world, Amsterdam can be a big boost to your lifestyle especially if you’re one for outdoor activities. The city is known for its picturesque cycling over canals. It’s a cheaper method of travel and packs a ton of health benefits, including lowering your risk of heart attack, according to past studies.

Sydney, known for the famous Bondi beach, ranked in at second on the list. Another city known for being active, the study said that Sydney contains more than 400 outdoor activities that can take place.

Moving back to Europe, Vienna ranked third for its cultural impact and having one of the lowest pollution levels that ranked better than Barcelona, Paris and London. Two Scandinavian cities — Stockholm and Copenhagen — rounded out the top five. While the colder climates might deter those looking to soak in the sun, Stockholm had the fourth-lowest number of hours worked per week, rounding in at 30 hours weekly. Copenhagen — the world’s second happiest city, according to this study — had the world’s lowest working hours per year, with the average workers spending 28.75 hours per week at work.

“Our health has never been more important and it’s really interesting to see that leading a healthy and happy life can be influenced by your location by such a significant amount. The shorter working weeks and low pollution levels have proved greatly successful for cities in the north of Europe such as Copenhagen and Stockholm, despite these locations receiving some of the lowest hours of sunshine each year,” said Roshni Patel from Lenstore in a statement.

“Keeping fit and healthy can also become costly with gym memberships and costs of groceries varying in different cities. It’s great to see cities with hundreds of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed for free. With many different factors, it’s important to consider which are the most important to you to lead the healthiest and happiest lifestyle you possible can.”

The Ozarks, made popular by the hit Netflix show by the same name, is offering the same sum plus a bicycle to move to two of its counties. Other places like Savannah wants tech workers to relocate to Chatham County for a year, which will net you up to $2,000.
