NEW HAVEN — A female passenger on a motorcycle was killed in an accident Thursday night in northern New Haven, city police said Friday.

Police received a 911 call around 10:19 p.m. for a motor vehicle accident on Dixwell Avenue near Pond Street, New Haven police spokesman Officer Scott Shumway said Friday.

The crash involved a Suzuki motorcycle and a Toyota Camry. City fire and emergency medical services also came to the scene and transported the male motorcycle operator and the driver of the Toyota to Yale New Haven Hospital.

The motorcyclist was transported with “life-threatening injuries” and was listed in critical condition, Shumway said. The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries.

“The female passenger of the motorcycle, who was ejected upon impact, did not survive her injuries,” he said.

The department’s Crash Team is investigating the collision, Shumway said.

Police did not identify the passenger of the motorcycle who was killed or either of the drivers.
