One Brotherhood Motorcycle Club delivers presents f

The One Brotherhood Motorcycle Club, based in Salinas, held their annual adopt a family event on Saturday. The club members and their families deliver presents and food to families most in need on the Central Coast. “I’m really excited they came out, that they give presents to my kids and they gave gifts to me too,” said Diana Almanza.The One Brotherhood Motorcycle Club adopted Almanza this holiday season. “Best feeling ever … best feeling ever,” said Mark Lacuata, the founder of the One Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. “Once we open up the U-haul, just seeing their faces is priceless.”The One Brotherhood Motorcycle Club is unwrapping another tradition, with their 8th annual “Adopt a Family” event. This year they adopted five families; one in Seaside, four in Salinas, and a low-income apartment complex in Salinas. One of the adopted families is Almanza and her two children. “I like my toys and I appreciated that they give us the presents and the candy,” said Almanza’s son Alexander. Almanza’s daughter added, “I got a puppy and makeup.” Almanza is a breast cancer survivor. But now she is fighting another battle of carcinoma cancer.The single mother said, “I have it here in my back neck, and I have it in my back spine and I have it in my stomach. So, I have cancer in my bones.”She adds, “I’m just glad that I got all the help and support and everything I am going thru.” The motorcycle club raises funds throughout the year to be able to help families. They also receive donations from local businesses. They say it’s about bringing happiness during tough times, that keeps going. “Us as bikers, we have big hearts. We love giving back to the community,” Lacuata said. “Merry Christmas from One Brotherhood Motorcycle Club and thank you to all our sponsors.”
