State Police Report – Nov. 27, 2021

An Ickesburg man died in an accident at the intersection of Veterans Way and Darlene Lane in Saville Twp. on Nov. 12.

Matthew E. Kell, 35, was on a 2007 Yamaha Vstar headed north in the 7700 block of Veterans Way when a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado turned left in front of him at 3:58 p.m. He was thrown from the motorcycle after crashing into the truck. A southbound 2008 Buick Enclave then struck the motorcycle as it slid on the road.

Kell was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet.

The driver of the Silverado was using a seat belt and was not injured. Charges against the driver are pending an investigation by state police.

The driver of the Buick, who wasn’t using a seat belt, was not injured.

Ickesburg Fire Company, Landisburg EMS, PennDOT assisted at the scene.

Catalytic converters were reported cut from two vehicles.

On July 25 between 9:40 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Covered Bridge Lane in Wheatfield Twp., a catalytic converter was cut off a 2019 Ford F-250 while it was parked near the Dellville Covered Bridge.

Between Aug. 8 and 11 in the 300 block of Newport Road in Penn Twp., a catalytic converter was cut off a 2012 Ford Econoline E-450 bus while it was parked at Otterbein United Methodist Church.

A 32-year-old Carlisle man is facing retail theft charges after an incident at 8:37 a.m., Nov. 5, in the 3400 block of Shermans Valley Road, Tyrone Twp.
