YORK – Arraignment proceedings were held this past week in York County District Court for Adam L. Hilton, 35, of Denver, Colo., who has been charged here with theft of and operating a motorcycle to avoid arrest.

A deputy with the York County Sheriff’s Department says in the affidavit filed with the York County Court that he was on Interstate 80 when he saw a man on a motorcycle who was not wearing a helmet. He said the motorcyclist exited at York and as he tried to get his attention, the motorcyclist sped away — now southbound on Highway 81. The deputy said as he followed, the man on the motorcycle was weaving in and out of traffic at a high speed, with heavy traffic in the area.

Motorcycle benefit ride held to honor teenager killed in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – A motorcycle benefit ride was held this weekend to honor a 13-year-old who was killed in Tuscaloosa.

Kei’lan Allen was shot and killed in his home on October 15th. Authorities say Allen was playing on his iPad with his mother down the hall, when bullets came through the window and struck him. Three people have been arrested following the deadly shooting.

Several west Alabama motorcycle clubs rode on Saturday morning in remembrance of Allen. It cost $20 for riders to participate and $10 for a passenger with that rider. Joel Smith, President of the Boogie Down Motorcycle Club in Cottondale, told WBRC they want to support Allen’s family during this difficult time.

Motorcycle ride held to raise money to help veterans

A group of motorcycle riders came together Saturday morning to help veterans in New Hampshire.The Leathernecks Motorcycle Club hit the road for a charity ride starting in Manchester to raise money for Liberty House in Manchester, a transitional home for homeless and struggling veterans.“We don’t take any state or federal money for our operational expenses, so these kind of events are huge for us,” Liberty House Executive Director Jeff Nelson. “They are what make us be able to keep our doors open.” “We had a heartfelt need and desire to help Jeff out because we’ve seen the facility and we’ve seen what he does and this is a worthwhile cause,” said club member Roger Crevier.Club members said they hope to make this ride an annual event.

Funeral held for L.A. County deputy who ‘made his own path’

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department motorcycle Deputy Thomas Albanese, who was killed in a collision in a Lakewood intersection last month while attempting to make a traffic stop, was eulogized Friday as a man who loved his job.

Albanese, 41, a seven-year veteran of the department and married father of 7- and 11-year-old sons, was attempting to pull over a black sedan just before 9 a.m. Feb. 25 when he was killed at the intersection of Paramount and Del Amo boulevards.
