The $5,000 SONDORS electric motorcycle in testing ahead of deliveries

Ahead of upcoming deliveries of the SONDORS Metacycle electric motorcycle, the company is sharing new details about how it’s ensuring the bike will withstand a tough life as a daily commuter bike.

The SONDORS Metacycle is likely still the most anticipated electric motorcycle of the year. That’s not because it’s the fastest or the longest range electric motorcycle on the way – it’s far from either – but rather because of the extreme value it offers.

Unlike powerful and flashy electric motorcycles like the Zero SR/F and LiveWire One, the SONDORS Metacycle electric motorcycle has much more muted specs.

It claims a top speed of 80 mph (130 km/h) and a maximum range of 80 miles (130 km) per charge.

That won’t win the Metacycle any races or distances records, but the $5,000 sticker price is less than a quarter of what the other flagship electric motorcycles cost.

Motorcycle permit testing now available online

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Motorcycle permit testing is now available online.

Commissioner Everett Frazier of the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles made the announcement Tuesday.

DMV’s testing online is available through West Virginia’s KnowTo Drive online platform. Officials say online testing became necessary due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This gives residents the ability to register and complete learner’s permit testing requirements before visiting a DMV office for credential issuance.

Applicants can self-register and pay for the exam using the WV DMV portal. If you’re under 18 years of age, parents or guardians can enter their information as the examination proxy.  Any under-18 applicants must have a GDL II license to have a motorcycle endorsement added to their license. Once registered, the examination can be taken immediately or later, via an emailed link. During the exam, the test-taker is subject to an initial photo capture, stored for ID verification by

Off-Road Testing VW’s Off-Road Atlas

Volkswagen Atlas Full Overview

Americans may be chomping at the bit for Ford Broncos, Jeep Wranglers, and Toyota 4Runners, but I’ve long had the theory that an all-wheel-drive crossover SUV on all-terrain tires could go 95 percent of the places that the average Wrangler or 4Runner (and eventual Bronco) owner goes off-road. I’m not talking about anything wild, like rock crawling in Moab or overlanding on the Mojave Road, but instead stuff like high-clearance 4×4 trails that dot national parks around the country, which are usually little more than a glorified forest road or hardpacked sand.

While a legion of Subaru owners (including my wife) have been proving me right for years by fitting their Outbacks, Foresters, and Crosstreks with all-terrain tires, VW thought it’d save its customers the trouble, offering up the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Basecamp to buyers inclined to explore the great outdoors. Unfortunately, as I’d soon find

A new video released by Texas-based electric powersports company Volcon shows the Volcon Grunt off-road electric motorcycle riding in more detail than we’ve ever seen before.

Volcon Grunt electric motorcycle video

The Grunt is Volcon’s first planned electric powersports vehicle headed for production at the company’s new factory.

The Texas factory is currently under construction ahead of Grunt production planned to begin later this spring.

Until then, Volcon is showing off the Grunt in a new promotional video that sees it climbing berms, jumping through the air and generally engaging in exactly the kind of shenanigans you’d expect of an off-road electric motorcycle.

You can see the interesting new electric motorcycle below in all its glory.

Powered by a 50 hp (37 kw) electric motor, the Grunt is reportedly capable of putting down 75 lb-ft (100 Nm) of torque to its comically wide yet awesome-looking fat wheels.

The bike features
