For the month of April, UMW Toyota Motor sold 6,868 units of Toyota cars and 78 units of Lexus.
The company said the trend is expected to continue and looks to be driving further ahead as the year progresses.
The uptick in sales results for the year-to-date is attributed to the ‘Bersama Lebih Makna’ Raya promotions, which offers benefits worth RM4,000 to those who choose to drive the Vios and Yaris home.
Always a popular choice, these Toyota best-sellers have furthered the jump in sales, with the automotive leader expecting a further hike in anticipation of upcoming new product launches.
UMW Toyota Motor president Ravindran K said the company would continue to be innovative towards empowering Toyota lovers as the brand promotes best value deals through state-of-the-art mobility, excellent security features along with modernised performance.
“It is heartening to note that we have transitioned well into the endemic phase, and we at UMW Toyota Motor are always encouraged by the support from our customers, especially during this busy Ramadan and Raya period.
“Even with the surprise announcement of Aidilfitri falling a day earlier than expected, all our service centres were fully prepared to assist our customers in their ‘balik kampung’ journey,” he said.
In celebrating the festivities, UMW Toyota Motor launched a film entitled ‘Kota Raya’ via YouTube and several social media platforms on April 26.
The film features Aedy Ashraf as Aidil, while Fitri is played by Amerul Afendi, with a special appearance by Toyota Gazoo Racing racer and Toyota Yaris ambassador, Janna Nick as Aqila.
The film is inspired by family and the importance of being together, particularly since the travel restrictions impacted the ‘balik kampung’ journey the past two years.
UMW Toyota Motor also reach out to those less fortunate in a collaboration with Harian Metro through their ‘Titipan Kasih’ programme.
With the aim of providing assistance to the underprivileged, this outreach saw UMW Toyota Motor present ‘baju raya’ worth RM150 to 50 children, along with a ‘Kotak Rezeki’ consisting of groceries valued at RM100 to 168 families.
The programme also saw 50 children receiving RM60 each as ‘duit raya’.
Volunteers from UMW Toyota Motor spent the whole day at the Masjid Nurul Iman in Kampung Tengah, Puchong.
Ravindran said the focus of this activity was for the company to share the festive celebration with the less
fortunate.
In addition, UMW Toyota Motor will be celebrating Hari Raya with its ‘Toyota Raya Open House Weekender’ from May 21-22 in all showrooms, nationwide.
This is to reconnect with Toyota customers, both past, present and future, while celebrating Hari Raya together.
The weekend event will see UMW Toyota Motor extend great deals and the latest Ramadan promotions to its customers.
There will be gifts (while stocks last) after test driving any Toyota vehicle, on top of the showroom activities prepared for all.
