Bush making much different comeback for Rangers this time

Bush’s previous comeback was from a much darker and lonely place off the field, after 3 1/2 years in prison following a DUI accident during spring training in 2012 while with the Tampa Bay Rays organization that seriously injured, and nearly killed, a 72-year-old man on a motorcycle.

“Last time I was definitely in an environment where it was almost like seriously a dream, if I can come back and play Major League Baseball,” Bush said. “I didn’t know if I had to go to independent ball and play, like where my opportunity could come, where my life would go in regards to making a living.”

Manager Chris Woodward said the right-hander will be on the opening day roster and will pitch in late-inning situations for the Rangers.

Argument between man and woman sparked shootout that injured 7 inside Cleveland motorcycle club, officials say

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Police are investigating the possibility that an argument between a man and woman escalated into shootout that injured seven people inside what officials called an illegal motorcycle club in Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood.

Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said investigators are still in the early stages of the investigation and are tracking down witnesses across the area to get a full accounting of what happened inside The Spot Night Club.

But she said detectives so far believe a man and woman argued about 3 a.m. Sunday inside the club on Pearl Road near Brookpark Road. The man fired a single gunshot and multiple others inside the club pulled out guns and started firing, Ciaccia said.

Motorcycle safety awareness comes to forefront as weather improves | Public Safety

A March 19 motorcycle crash in St. Joseph ended in a fatality highlighting how things can go wrong for riders, who are showing up more on roads with the warming temperatures.

The rider in that case died after colliding with an SUV. He was wearing a helmet but no other protective gear, St. Joseph Police Sgt. Casey Guyer said. The man’s speed was a factor in the crash, but the case remains under investigation, Guyer said.

Any measures a motorcyclist can take to increase safety are important, St. Joseph Health and Safety Council Traffic Safety Coordinator John Christensen said.

“It’s a small-profile vehicle, a little harder to see, and if they go down it’s a totally different circumstance,” he said. “If you run over a golf-ball sized rock with your SUV, it’s one circumstance. If you hit a golf-ball sized rock on the road riding a motorcycle, totally different set
