22-Year-Old Brazilian Influencer Dies In A Tragic Motorcycle Accident

A Brazilian influencer was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident last Thursday, according to local outlets.

Júlia Hennessy Cayuela, 22, a biomedicine student and model known for sharing her life with more than 330,000 Instagram followers, passed away after her motorbike was hit by a truck switching lanes on a road in São José dos Pinhais, per local outlet G1.

Júlia and her husband, influencer and entrepreneur Daniel Cayuela, had been traveling through the mountains of southern Brazil on a road trip.

“We were at our house, me and my wife, Julia’s mother, when the hospital called with the news. We got a flight and, at midnight, we were in Curitiba. She died around 1:00 am,” Jerônimo Onofre, Julia’s stepfather, told G1.

According to Brazilian newspaper O Tempo, Julia was taken by a firefighter’s helicopter to a hospital in the region, but went into cardiac arrest and passed away.

Her husband Daniel was also taken to a local hospital, where he underwent shoulder surgery. Onofre said Daniel was not aware of his wife’s passing, and family members told him when he woke up from surgery.

“Daniel is in shock, crying a lot, not believing what happened. They were very united and in love,” Onofre told G1.

“We are desolate, in shock, a very difficult time,” Onofre told G1. “We are suffering.”

“First stop #capaobonito 800km rounds in style and in the peace of Jesus always! Tomorrow to descend the serpent and graceful mountain range, we will sleep in Pomerode,” Daniel had written about the first leg of their trip.

While Julia’s message read: “Life is short, let’s be crazy 🛣 🚀 Me, You, God and the road! Your dreams are mine too @danielcayuela.”

Since she posted the caption the same day as the accident, which some followers considered her last post a premonition of sorts.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 17th, where friends and family said goodbye.
