Authorities have identified the motorcycle rider killed in a single-vehicle accident on a remote stretch of Highway 33 Saturday afternoon.
Sean P. Hufford, 43, was a resident of Frazier Park, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Hufford had been riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson southbound on Highway 33 in Ventura County, near the Santa Barbara County line, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Fort Tejon office.

At around 12:50 p.m., as Hufford was riding at high speed south of Berges Creek, he let the Harley travel to the right and down a dirt embankment, CHP investigators determined. The motorcycle overturned an unknown number of times, throwing him from the bike.
Hufford and the Harley ended up about 60 feet west of the roadway, officials said. No one else was on the motorcycle. Hufford had been wearing a helmet.
Hufford was flown by a Ventura County Sheriff’s helicopter crew to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead later that afternoon. Investigators did not know as of Monday whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
The incident closed the southbound lane for about an hour. The accident was still under investigation Monday.
