Halethorpe man dies in motorcycle crash on US Route 40 in Catonsville

Baltimore County police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash.Cody Daniel Darby, 27, of Halethorpe, died in a motorcycle crash just after 9 p.m. Friday in Catonsville, police said.Police said the motorcyclist, Darby, tried to pass a Toyota RAV4 on the right on a narrow shoulder of eastbound U.S. Route 40 at a high rate of speed. Police said the Toyota turned right in the 6500 block of U.S. Route 40 and Darby struck the back of the Toyota.Darby died at the scene.An investigation continues.
