One killed after car, motorcycle collide near railroad tracks in Dania Beach

A 68-year-old Hollywood man died in the hospital after his motorcycle collided with a car near a railroad crossing in Dania Beach.

William Ciriago was driving a Can-Am Spyder motorcycle west in the 2200 block of Griffin Road, about 4 p.m. Monday, when he made a left turn on the railroad tracks and began heading south along the tracks, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Roger Gordon, 77, of Davie, was driving a Dodge Charger east on Griffin Road approaching Interstate 95. As Gordon reached the railroad tracks on the west side of I-95, Ciriago pulled into his path and was struck on the right side. The motorcycle flipped over before coming to a rest, investigators said.

Ciriago was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood where he later died.

Gordon was also taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with minor injuries. He is cooperating with the investigation that is ongoing.
