High-speed motorcycle chase on Hwy 1 leads to arrests

Two men allegedly attempting to steal a U-Haul truck kickstarted a high-speed chase Friday from the North Coast to the North County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an off-duty CHP sergeant was driving in the Los Osos area around 1 p.m. when the sergeant observed two men appearing to be stealing a U-Haul truck.

The sergeant called dispatch to report a possible crime in progress and then followed the men as they began to drive away from the area, one in the U-Haul and the other on a motorcycle.

When they reached South Bay Boulevard, the suspects noticed they were being followed, according to a CHP news release. The U-Haul driver pulled over while the motorcyclist continued northbound.

The U-Haul driver was taken into custody, and additional Morro Bay Police Department officers responded to the area to locate the motorcyclist.

Council Bluffs motorcycle chase sends one person to the hospital

One person is in the hospital after a motorcycle chase in Council Bluffs just after 6 p.m. Tuesday night.Authorities say the chase began after the driver of the motorcycle would stop for a trooper. Iowa State Patrol says the chase ended at Bennet and Arnold after the motorcyclist crashed.The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Mercy Hospital in critical condition.Pottawattamie County sheriff, Iowa State Patrol and Council Bluffs police are all on the scene. Motorcycle chase ends in arrests for fraud, stolen vehicle

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — At around 9:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30th, a Nueces County Precinct Five Deputy tried to pull over a motorcycle driver for a traffic violation. But when the sirens came on, the driver took off.

The suspect, later identified as Jacob Gogorth, attempted to speed away from officers. A brief pursuit ensued, and officers were able to successfully arrest him near CR75 at FM 624.

Upon further investigation, officers found that the motorcycle Gogorth had been riding was stolen out of Corpus Christi back on Jan. 12th of this year.

Not only that, Gogorth was in possession of 18 credit and debit cards belonging to at least 8 different people. 

Gogorth also had 8 oz of marijuana.

In total, he was arrested for evading arrest, fraud, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and possession of marijuana.

The bike, at least, was returned to its owner.
