Houston crime: Man shot and killed in parking lot, deputies say

One man was killed and another injured after a shooting outside of a Buffalo Wild Wings in NE Harris County, deputies say.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man was shot and killed, and another was injured, after a shooting early Sunday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened around 12:20 a.m. outside a Buffalo Wild Wings in northeast Harris County off FM 1960.

Deputies say two men were walking out of the restaurant and standing in the parking lot near their motorcycles.

The suspects’ vehicle, described as possibly a gray Dodge pickup truck, drove through the parking lot, then fired at least six shots at the two men. The truck then fled the scene, according to deputies.

Officials arrived and transported both men by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where one was then pronounced dead.

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a shooting at a motorcycle club in the early morning hours Saturday. Police received a call abut a shooting at the Tru-Riders Motorcycle Club at 905 Reverend Abraham Woods Junior Boulevard just before 1 a.m.When they arrived they found a woman had been shot. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived and took her to UAB Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.During that time, an officer at Birmingham Police headquarters heard a crash in the 1700 block of 1st Avenue North. He found a vehicle had crashed into two parked cars and the driver had been shot.He was identified as 38-year-old Navari Deon Jones of Bessemer. Motorcycle rider killed in I-580 collision

SAN LEANDRO — A motorcycle rider was killed and their passenger was hurt in a collision that closed some lanes of eastbound Interstate 580 for several hours, authorities said.

Around 1:15 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of the collision involving several vehicles, including a Nissan Murano SUV and a motorcycle, in eastbound I-580 lanes just before the 150th Avenue off-ramp.

Officers arrived to find at least three lanes blocked by several vehicles and debris. According to preliminary information, a Harley Davidson motorcycle with a rider and passenger entered the highway from the Grand Avenue on-ramp in San Leandro before colliding with the Nissan, which was stopped in traffic in the roadway’s right-hand lane.

Man who struck and killed motorcycle thief taken into custody, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) — Police announced the arrest of a man who they say struck and killed the person who had stolen his motorcycle resulting in a massive crash that was caught on camera.

In a release from the Fresno Police Department, investigators announced that Nate Arrington, 26, had been arrested on charges of manslaughter related to the death of Kair Saephan, 44.

On Feb. 7 around 9:00 a.m. officers arrived at the area of Fresno Street and Shields Avenue where they received reports of a vehicle that had been chasing a motorcycle. While officers responded, the motorcycle and the vehicle crashed.

Footage of that crash was released by the Fresno Police Department (warning: the video may be disturbing to some viewers.)

Saephan, the driver of the motorcycle, was transported to an area hospital where he died.

Arrington remained at the scene at the time of the incident.
