Motorcycle crashes on Route 50 in Pittsville; driver dies on scene
A fatal Monday night motorcycle crash in Pittsville is under investigation, according to Maryland State Police.
Troopers responded to Route 50 and Main Street Extended in Pittsville at 11:11 p.m. for a report of a fatal crash involving a motorcycle.
Police said the preliminary investigation revealed a 1999 Suzuki being driven by 29-year-old Brandon Michael Bello of Salisbury was heading west on Route 50 when another vehicle going north on Main Street Extended crossed the motorcycle’s path.
The motorcycle hit the passenger side back door of the other vehicle, causing Bello to be ejected. He died on scene.
State police said Bello’s motorcycle was seen before the crash in the area of westbound Route 50 in Willards moving “at a high rate of speed” without its lights illuminated. Bello did not appear to be wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The area of impact indicated the other vehicle was almost through the intersection when the motorcycle hit it, according to police. The passenger vehicle’s driver, a 22-year-old Seaford man, did not suffer any injuries and refused medical treatment.
A Maryland State Police reconstructionist responded to conduct the investigation, which is still ongoing. Anyone with relevant information should contact the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack, which can be reached by calling 410-749-3101.
