Motorcycle passenger dies in Lyman crash, driver injured

A Massachusetts woman died this morning after being thrown from a motorcycle during a crash.


Maine State Police say a Massachusetts woman died Saturday morning when she was thrown from a motorcycle during a crash. According to police, 50-year-old Anne Stout was the passenger on the back of the motorcycle and 51-year-old Gerald Gibson of Sanford was the driver. Police say the crash happened on Old Berwick Road in Lyman around 11:30 a.m. when Gibson drove on the soft shoulder, left the road and then crashed into a small ditch. Police say both Gibson and Stout were not wearing helmets. Gibson was transported to Maine Medical Center with minor injuries.
