3 people charged for motorcycle thefts during fall Panama City Beach Thunder Beach Rally

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Following a two-month investigation involving two self-proclaimed “Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs,” the Panama City Beach Police Department has arrested three people for allegedly stealing motorcycles.

Two additional suspects are being sought in the case. The case involves the theft of five motorcycles stolen during the Fall Thunder Beach Rally in October.

Sidecar motorcycle racers took practice laps Friday at Daytona, and Saturday they make their racing debut at the Speedway during “Motofest.”

Friday’s practice sessions saw a first at Daytona International Speedway: Motorcycles with sidecars.

The sidecar racing is part of this weekend’s “MotoFest,” which has returned to Daytona for the first time since 2015.

The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association’s (AHRMA) Classic MotoFest is opening the 2022 motorcycle racing season this weekend at Daytona. Off-Road MX, Dirt Track, and a full slate of road-racing will be featured on the Daytona road course and tri-oval layout as well as the dirt track and the Speedway’s nearby “hay field.”

The AHRMA’s featured class is the Vintage Superbike Heavyweights, which debuted at Daytona 45 years ago. The first installment of the 2022 Vintage Cup Heavyweight Superbike series is scheduled for Saturday.
